The optimal age to learn a foreign language is birth through age six.  Although it is possible to learn a language beyond this age, it becomes much more difficult.  This is one of many reasons we at Baby Lingua realize exposure to a foreign language can never be too early, but it can be too late.  Through exposure to a foreign language an infant learns the sounds of the chosen language making it easier to make the necessary connections in the brain.  These connections make it easy for a child to learn a foreign language and to become fluent with increasing ease in a relatively short period of time.  After all, no one would wait until their child was four or five to teach them English.

Language competence increases steadily as the child becomes more responsible for learning a language rather than being continuously led by the teacher.  We help by providing an environment that fosters independence and the desire to learn more.

When learning a second language, students need to develop language skills that are useful to their everyday life.  They need to learn from their mistakes and understand that it is completely normal to make these mistakes as part of the learning process.  Our teachers help your child achieve independence while learning a language.  Our classrooms provide stimulating and fun materials to help them have fun while learning.  For very young children we use songs, rhymes, games and crafts to help them learn the language of choice in a fun and engaging way.

Spanish is the official language in twenty-two different countries.  All forms of spoken Spanish (with some exceptions such as regionally specific or cultural variations that have developed in a limited number of countries such as Mexico) are interrelated and can be understood by all Spanish speakers.

The German language is spoken in many countries besides Germany.  Switzerland, Austria and some parts of Lithuania are but a few.  There is a rich German heritage in the Northern Kentucky and Cincinnati area.

The Chinese language is growing ever more popular as China becomes more of a presence in our country (for example, economic trade).  More and more people are needed who are fluent in Chinese.

Russian is a beautiful language that can be easily learned if taught at a very young age.

Many foreign language programs are very inflexible due to large class sizes, different learning backgrounds among students and teachers who follow a strict program.  At Baby Lingua our teachers begin with a framework that allows them to vary the classroom structure to provide a system of learning steps.  This framework is used as the foundation to build a program that uses many different types of resources.  We regularly provide materials to use for study at home.

Our goal at Baby Lingua is for students to reach a high level of communication skills in a foreign language by learning to read and write as well.  As students advance, they are exposed to writing and reading opportunities in the classroom.  These skills will naturally be transferred to the students, helping them to take appropriate responsibility for their own continued learning outside the classroom.
